Abergeldie Castle Survived By a Hair's Breadth After Getting Nearly Swallowed by River Dee

Abergeldie Castle in Aberdeenshire, near to Queen Elizabeth's Balmoral estate, survived Storm Frank after “teetering on the brink” following the overflow of the River Dee. John Seton Howard Gordon, Baron Abergeldie, was forced to evacuate from his family’s ancestral home, which sits on an 11,687-acre estate. The 76-year-old nobleman and his wife sought refuge with their neighbor Gordon Fraser.
